York’s Charity Art Pop-Up
Giving Creativity a New Home and Empty Spaces Some Much-Needed Purpose
An empty York storefront on High Petergate is getting some pizzazz as a revived charity art pop-up. Think of it as an art gallery, but without the pretension—or the need to explain what a “postmodern deconstruction” is. This project isn’t just about filling walls; it’s about filling hearts (aww) and raising funds for good causes while they’re at it.
A Splash of Color Where It’s Needed Most
The pop-up is taking over a vacant site in York, proving that even the gloomiest of empty spaces can be transformed with a bit of creativity and a lot of ambition.
Who’s Behind the Magic?
This initiative is the brainchild of local artists and charity Skippko who figured it’s about time York’s creative scene got a stage that’s as fresh as its ideas.
What Can You Expect?
Expect a mix of artwork that’s as varied as York’s weather. And if you’ve ever wanted to chat with an artist about their process (or at least pretend you know what “layering” means), this is your chance.
So, if you’re wandering the city center wondering what to do with your afternoon (and your wall space), pop into the charity art pop-up. It’s fun, it’s fresh, and it’s for a good cause.
The Created in York pop-up at 22 High Petergate and is open 10:30 am – 5:00 pm on Thursdays through to Saturdays, and 11:00 am – 4:00 pm on Sundays.
