York Pride is back this weekend – Saturday 7 June – and whether you’re marching, dancing, cheering from the sidelines or just here for the vibes, it’s going to be a proper celebration.
Expect a full day of live music, drag royalty, local talent, dancing, food, stalls, community joy, and unapologetic queerness. York does Pride well – and this year’s looking bigger, bolder and even more rainbow than usual.
Here’s everything you need to know:
The Parade – Join It or Cheer It On
Starts: Parliament Street
Assemble from 11:30am / Sets off at 12 noon
Ends: The Knavesmire (around 1–1:30pm)
The parade’s had a bit of a location shuffle – this year, it kicks off from Parliament Street, inside the anti-vehicle bollards (safety first). Whether you’re marching with a group or waving from the pavement, the route winds its way through the city and lands at the Knavesmire for the big event. Flags, music, glitter, and good energy guaranteed.
Main Stage – Big Names, Big Voices, Big Vibes
12:30pm–7pm @ The Knavesmire
Headlining this year’s lineup are the incredible Angels of the North – that’s Ginger Johnson, Michael Marouli, and Tomara Thomas, aka RuPaul’s Drag Race UK drag excellence. Also hitting the main stage:
La Voix
Kerry Ellis
The Cheeky Girls (yes, really)
Marcus Collins
Eva Iglesias
Pet Shop Boys, Actually
Janice D
Ryan Petitjean
Hosted by local legends St Sordid Secret, Mamma Bear, and guest host Ash Palmisciano from Emmerdale.
Cabaret, Dance & QueerArts
Alongside the main stage, there’s plenty more happening:
Cabaret Stage – hosted by YorkMix, packed with drag, comedy, live music, and spoken word.
Dance Tent – high-energy tunes, no chill required.
QueerArts Space – a creative hub for local LGBTQ+ artists and makers. Think zines, art, and stories that matter.
Food, Drink & Stalls
Loads of food options, drinks flowing, and stalls to explore. Bring your appetite and a tote bag – you’ll want both. Most places take card, but cash is handy too (closest ATM: Sainsbury’s on Blossom Street).
The Afterparty – Ziggy’s Bar, Micklegate
Doors open at 7pm
Dance floor from 10pm (hosted by the glorious Janice D)
Entry: £7 on the door, or free with a York Pride wristband before 10pm / £5 after
Ziggy’s will be the place to end the night – expect a full bar, dancefloor chaos, and zero judgement.
How Much Is It?
