York Art Gallery’s New Garden Bar
‘The Sketch’ is opening this Saturday, March 22 to Serve Up Drinks, Charcuterie & Stunning Views
If sipping wine on a sunny terrace surrounded by art and history sounds like your kind of vibe, then you’re in luck—York Art Gallery has just unveiled ‘The Sketch,’ a brand-new garden bar tucked away at the back of the gallery, overlooking Museum Gardens.
It’s got cheese, charcuterie, cocktails, and French café charm, and yes—it’s dog-friendly too.
What’s on the Menu?
Cheese & Charcuterie – Think Comté, French Brie, Yorkshire chorizo, Coppa, Speck, and Bresaola, all served with crackers, Haxby Focaccia bread, chutneys, and salted butter (because everything tastes better with butter).
Wine & Cocktails – A carefully curated selection of French wines plus classic cocktails to sip as you soak up the surroundings.
Where Did This Come From?
‘The Sketch’ is an extension of Sketch café, the stylish little spot inside York Art Gallery, run by Maria Rodriguez and Philip Veal. And while the garden bar is only here temporarily, coinciding with the Monet exhibition, there’s hope it could stick around if it proves popular (so, you know—go order a drink).
