We tried York’s New Brunch Hotspot, Oasis Café
Oasis Café has good vibes, great coffee, and a menu packed with both the sweet and the savoury.
If you’re on the hunt for a new go-to brunch spot in York, Oasis Café has just landed on Low Ousegate, and on our trip it was full of good vibes, great coffee, and a menu packed with both sweet and savoury delights.
We popped in for a take away and got a loaded wrap and a seriously good Tropical Boost’ smoothie.
The Story Behind Oasis Café
This isn’t just another café opening—it’s a fresh start for a historic York building. Oasis Café now occupies 13 Low Ousegate, a Grade II listed building dating back to the 1830s. The space had been sitting empty for five years, but now, thanks to co-owner Idriss Abbaz (also behind Enoteca on Bridge Street) and General Manager Amy Phillips, it’s now a warm, modern brunch spot.
Their vision? A cozy, welcoming space where locals and visitors can relax with quality food and great drinks.
What’s on the Menu?
Oasis Café is serving up brunch classics with a twist, alongside some seriously tempting sweet treats. Here’s what to expect:
For the Sweet Tooths:
American Pancakes
French Toast
Kunafa Pistachio Crepe – Inspired by the viral ‘Dubai chocolate’ trend, packed with pistachio paste and Nutella.
For the Savory Lovers:
Full English Breakfast – Because you can’t go wrong with a classic.
Eggs Benedict – Poached eggs, silky hollandaise, and pure brunch perfection.
Avocado on Toast – A must for any brunch menu.
Wraps, Sandwiches & Salads – Fresh, filling, and packed with flavour.
Drinks Worth Sticking Around For:
Specialty Lattes – Matcha, turmeric, and all the cozy vibes.
Smoothies – From ‘Green Power’ to ‘Tropical Boost’, these are not your average fruit blends.
Coffee from – Because good brunch always needs a great coffee to go with it.
More Than Just Brunch
With a team of 19 staff, Oasis Café is all about community—they want this to be the kind of place where people come back again and again.
Right now, they’re open 8 AM – 5 PM daily, with extended hours until 7 PM on Saturdays, but they’re already planning to open later, offering a cozy evening hangout without alcohol, making it a perfect spot for those looking for a chilled-out, late-night alternative.
